Complete with its own resident giraffes, this unique faraway place with its manor house from a bygone era offers guests the unique opportunity to relax with beautiful endangered creatures whilst being within close proximity of the city and wonderful parks and reserves.
Enjoy lavish 5-star facilities, private forest, landscaped gardens, and a state of the art Giraffe Centre across the lawn. When the manor’s giraffes aren’t roaming the vast parkland, guests can interact with these creatures while dining.
Giraffe Breakfast is a favourite activity with the guests, where a lavish and fresh breakfast is accompanied by a bowl of pellets for the giraffes.
Reaching right through the dining room windows, giraffes are keen to be fed at the breakfast table, while the staff are keen to tell the room about the story behind each giraffe.
The manor also lays out a fantastic afternoon tea, which provides another opportunity to feed the giraffes.
Although many guests just stay for these experiences, it is well worth heading out to the Elephant Orphanage nearby, where you can meet and feed baby elephants.
Guests can also enjoy croquet, painting sessions, guided walks in the sanctuary and massages in the manor grounds.
The property
Giraffe Manor is filled to the brim with 1930’s charm. The building and grounds feel almost film-like; sunny terraces, landscaped gardens, ivy clad elegant manor walls, and an intricate courtyard all make for a stunning sense of place. Guests can stay in one of 12 chic artisan rooms, which are located either in the original 1930’s manor or in a smaller, more intimate version of the manor. Every room has its own distinct character, filled with art deco features.
Standard rooms offer double or twin beds with en-suite facilities. Superior rooms boast varying features such as a front facing position with a roof terrace, a balcony, extra day bed, veranda, and fireplace. En-suites are equipped with a separate bath and shower. Superior suites are perfect for families, offering a double bed and mezzanine with twins, and a large luxury en-suite. Some superior rooms can also accommodate families. Personalised hotel experiences and services include romantic private dinners, private chauffeurs, and breakfast in bed.
